Discover O’Porco: A Tapas and Wine Bar in the Heart of Pinhão

Tucked away in the picturesque town of Pinhão, O’Porco is a small tapas and wine bar that reflects the rich heritage of the Douro Valley. Established in 2018, this intimate space began as my personal office—gradually reimagined into a cozy corner where both locals and travelers can enjoy honest food, fine wine, and a genuine connection to the region.

O’Porco remains a deeply personal project, run by me when I’m not guiding visitors through the vineyards or working at Marmelão, our family winery. It’s not a traditional restaurant—and in that spirit, we don’t take reservations. Everything at O’Porco runs a bit differently: the hours are flexible, the space is small, and the experience depends on the day. Sometimes we’re open, sometimes not. It’s part of the charm.

The food is inspired by the bold, earthy flavors of the Douro, with a menu that shifts depending on what’s fresh, what’s available, and what feels right to serve. Whether it’s a simple plate of local cheese and olives or a warm dish prepared for friends dropping in, O’Porco is about slowing down and enjoying whatever the moment offers.

For me, this little bar isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a way to share the rhythm of the valley, one glass and one story at a time. If you’re wandering through Pinhão and the door’s open, come in. No reservations, no pressure—just a chance to enjoy something real.
