Discover O’Porco: A Tapas and Wine Bar in the Heart of Pinhão

Tucked away in Pinhão, in the heart of the Douro Valley, O’Porco is a small wine and tapas bar built around simple food, good wine and the pleasure of sitting at the table.

Since opening in 2018, O’Porco has evolved with the place and with me. What started as a very informal space has gradually become a more defined experience, while keeping the same intimate and relaxed character.

Today, O’Porco works with reservations, allowing us to give each guest and each table the time and attention they deserve.

The experience is deliberately simple. We start with a selection of small starters, including our traditional orange with salt, followed by a main plate chosen from what is available on the day. The menu is designed to be shared, enjoyed slowly and accompanied by the wines we choose to serve.

If you are still hungry, you can add more plates and continue exploring the food. Drinks and dessert are available separately, so you can make the experience your own.

The food at O’Porco is rooted in the Douro and in Portuguese cooking. It is not about complicated recipes or elaborate presentation. It is about good ingredients, familiar flavours, generous plates and food that works well around a table.

The wine is equally important. The Douro is a wine region, and O’Porco is a place to discover and enjoy its wines in a relaxed setting.

O’Porco remains small by choice.

There is no rush to turn it into something bigger. The intention is simply to create a place where people can sit together, eat well, drink well and enjoy a few unhurried hours in Pinhão.
